Tuukka Taponen will race for ART Grand Prix in Formula 2 in 2027. The Finn rejoins the French outfit he drove for in his rookie Formula 3 season.
The road to F2
The 19-year-old finished third in the 2026 Formula 3 standings, collecting three podiums including one win, plus two pole positions.
A year earlier, in his rookie F3 campaign with ART, he also scored three podiums. In 2024 he won the Formula Regional Middle East title and took third in the European championship.
New car, familiar faces
His debut coincides with a revised F2 car and rule changes for 2027. Taponen believes that gives him a chance to fight near the front straight away, and said he was pleased to return to a team that knows him and wanted him back. His ultimate target remains Formula 1.
“I’m very happy to have Tuukka back in the team,” ART boss Sébastien Philippe told the official F2 website.
