Interest in Nikola Tsolov has long since outgrown Bulgaria’s borders. The latest proof came on Wednesday evening in Madrid, where more than 250 people lined up for an autograph and a meeting with the Bulgarian driver.

The Meet & Greet event was organised by Campos Racing and featured all five of the team’s drivers. It was held at F1 Arcade on Paseo de la Castellana 103 – right across from the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. A venue that could hardly be more fitting for such a meeting: 40 racing simulators, huge screens, and an atmosphere entirely devoted to Formula 1.

Except on Wednesday evening, the simulators weren’t the main attraction. Nikola was.

Two Queues and Hundreds Waiting

Interest in the meeting turned out to be so great that two separate queues formed in front of Tsolov. More than 250 people waited their turn to get a signed card, take a photo with him, and exchange a few words with the Bulgarian driver.

Cards and stickers had been prepared for the fans, but the most sought-after item remained Nikola’s own autograph. He took the time to greet everyone present, posed for photos, and met fans of all ages.

The most telling detail of the evening, though, was something else. Of all five drivers’ cards, only Nikola’s ran out. Interest was so high that the organisers had to bring out extra copies so there would be enough for everyone waiting. A small logistical detail that says quite clearly who was the most sought-after person at the event.

Bulgarian Families and Many Foreign Fans

Among the crowd were also Bulgarians who had brought their children specifically for the chance to see Tsolov. But the queues were far from just red, green and white. A large share of those present were foreign fans – another sign that Nikola’s name is starting to become recognisable well beyond his home country.

The presence of so many children was especially telling. For Bulgarian families, Nikola is already proof that the road from karting to the big international stage isn’t some distant fantasy. For foreign fans, he’s increasingly becoming a driver whose progress is worth following.

From the Bulgarian Lion to an International Star

Events like this rarely make it into the official statistics, but they often say more than the numbers do. Lap times show how fast a driver is. An autograph queue shows how many people already care about him.

And around Nikola Tsolov, that interest is visibly growing.

The wins, the title fight, and the link with Red Bull have turned the Bulgarian into one of the most recognisable young names on the road to Formula 1. In Madrid, that was visible not just in the Bulgarian flags, but in the dozens of Spanish and international fans waiting for their photo and signature.

Even more telling is that at an event with all five Campos Racing drivers, it was Tsolov’s cards that ran out first and had to be restocked. Popularity isn’t measured only in social-media followers. Sometimes it’s measured in two queues, an empty box of cards, and organisers scrambling to find more.

The Bulgarian Flag Is Already Recognisable

More and more foreign fans now associate the Bulgarian flag in the paddock with Nikola Tsolov. That’s a visibility that isn’t earned with one good qualifying session or one strong weekend – it builds up through wins, consistency, and presence.

In Madrid, no one needed to explain any more who the Bulgarian was. People arrived with his photos, knew his results, and had come specifically for him. And that’s perhaps the clearest sign that Tsolov is gradually ceasing to be just a promising driver and becoming a recognisable face of the next generation in motorsport.

The Support From F1 Arcade Moves to the Grandstands

Many of the people who waited to meet and get an autograph from Nikola will also be in the stands at Madring over the race weekend. So the support the Bulgarian felt at F1 Arcade will carry over trackside too – this time with flags, chants, and a lot more noise.

Tsolov has one of the most important weekends of the title fight ahead of him, and Wednesday’s crowd of hundreds showed that in Madrid he won’t be racing far from home. On the contrary – he’ll have an audience that already knows his name and is ready to support him from the first fast lap of qualifying to the chequered flag.

Madrid Already Knows His Name

The meeting came right before the race weekend on the new Madring street circuit, when the attention of the motorsport world is turning to the Spanish capital. Amid all the activities, fan zones and events surrounding Formula 1, one queue outside F1 Arcade showed something important: Nikola Tsolov already has an audience beyond Bulgaria.

More than 250 people turning out to meet a young driver isn’t just a good turnout. It’s already a genuine international fan base.

Not long ago, Nikola was the Bulgarian boy trying to break into international motorsport. Today, two queues form in the centre of Madrid for his signature, and his cards run out before those of every other driver on the team.

If his progress continues at the same pace, soon they’ll need to prepare not just more cards and stickers, but considerably more space. Madrid already knows who Nikola Tsolov is.
