The Bulgarian community turned out in force in the grandstands in Madrid to support Formula 2 championship leader Nikola Tsolov during the debut weekend at the new Madring circuit. The driver himself made no secret of his joy at the visible presence of his compatriots.

“I see a lot of Bulgarians here, it gives me extra fuel,” Tsolov said, stressing how powerful an emotional impact fan support has during difficult moments of the season, and how motivating their presence is for his performance on track.

Beyond individual fans, the driver’s organised fan club has also launched a new membership drive, with an annual fee of 25 euros that includes a personalised membership card and club-branded merchandise. The club is registered as a non-profit organisation, created “by fans, for fans”, with funds raised going towards organising initiatives and events and maintaining the community’s information channels.

Support also came from public figures — Andrey Gyurov posted photos with Tsolov on Facebook after a difficult Formula 2 weekend, expressing confidence in the driver’s lead in the standings: “One weekend doesn’t change the direction. Nikola is leading and we’re behind him, just as we will be for every race to come.” He also stressed that Tsolov has built his lead despite Bulgaria’s lack of a long racing tradition and without significant state support, concluding that “people like him, who refuse to give up, are what move Bulgaria forward.”

The fan club’s new membership drive runs until the end of September 2026, with sign-ups available through the club’s official website — a sign that support for Tsolov is growing in step with his success at this decisive stage of the season.
