Gasly says Alpine was losing traction after only a few laps

The Frenchman qualified seventh in Singapore but finished outside the points.
Pierre Gasly started the Singapore Grand Prix from seventh but could not hold on to a points-paying position. He said Alpine was losing traction under acceleration and that the rear tyres were degrading quickly through Marina Bay’s low-speed corners.
Gasly explained that the car felt manageable in qualifying, when the tyres only had to last for one fast lap. In the race, however, its behaviour changed after a few laps: the car slid under power and lost speed on corner exit.
Gasly dropped out of the top 10 and finished 11th. He said the problem was not simply a lack of pace, but an inability to control the car under acceleration — a weakness Alpine will need to address before the next races.
