Esteban Ocon to Leave Haas at End of 2026 Season

Esteban Ocon’s two-year spell at Haas will come to an end when the 2026 Formula 1 season concludes, the team has confirmed. The Frenchman has struggled to match teammate Oliver Bearman this year, trailing him 20 points to 7 after Azerbaijan, where both drivers scored for the first time in 2026. Eighth place in Baku remains Ocon’s best result of the campaign.
Ferrari junior and current Formula 2 championship leader Rafael Camara is the frontrunner to take over the seat for 2027. Ocon moved quickly to address the news on Instagram, insisting: “This is absolutely not the end of my Formula 1 career,” and stressing that his hunger to compete has not faded.
His immediate options look thin, though. With no seats open at Mercedes or Racing Bulls, Ocon may have to consider a reserve-driver role, a switch to IndyCar, or a move into the World Endurance Championship if he wants to keep racing at the top level.
